The Fifth Edition of Safaricom Deaf Half Marathon Heads Down to Mombasa this weekend

Safaricom is always up to good as they are always helping the community around them. They always strive to ensure that the community at large benefits in all their community outreach.

Safaricom also supports talent and is always willing to work with new and upcoming athletes to nurture talent and ensure they go far and wide in spreading their talents.

So this year Safaricom PLC will be sponsoring the Fifth Edition of the Deaf Half Marathon and it will be held in Mombasa. The reason why Mombasa is the county of choice is because of the humid weather. It will also be a chance to create awareness about the county and its beauty. Safaricom PLC is sponsoring the marathon to the tune of 2.5million.

During this Half Marathon, there will be notable names that will headline. These include:- Peter Toroitich from Turkana County. He is the defending champion for last years Meru Marathon. Daniel Kiptum who is from Nandi County and is the Gold medalist of the Sumsum Deaflympic Games. Last but not least Simon Kibai, who is from Uasin Gishu County and is a Gold medalist in the 10,000km and 5,000km Sumsun Deaflympic Games.

This marathon will bring together deaf athletes from all corners of the country and it will provide a platform to display their talent.

Winers of the half marathon will receive KES100,000, the first runners up will get KES50,000 while second runners up will receive KES30,000. For the 10kilometer race, winners will receive KES50,000, first runners up will get KES40,000 and second runners up will receive KES30,000.

It ill be an amazing race, so why not join in, show your talent and perhaps you could get into something bigger.
