Still A Mum

Still a mum. What do you understand when you hear those words? What comes to mind? Still. A. Mum. For me it means despite losing a baby, despite miscarrying, despite whatever circumstance, you are still a mum.

Mums are precious and we do not see that sometimes. We tend to take them for granted. I believe every mother should be celebrated. Every mother should be showered with love. For every time you have taken your mother for granted, have you asked yourself why? Did you ask yourself how she felt?

Well, there is an organisation in Kenya called Still a Mum. This organisation cares for mothers who have lost their babies and they encourage them and hold them while going through the trying period in their life.

The organisation was founded by Wanjiru Kihusa who wants to show mothers that they are loved and cared for as she helps reduce maternal and newborn mortality in Kenya.

Therefore there will be a Still a Mum Awards ceremony on the 13th of October. The awards were launched to provide an opportunity to recognize and appreciate people and organisations that are doing a fantastic job of making a difference to parents across the nation.
